Hatters for Music, spirit medium join forces for fundraiser

- By Theresa Katalinas

A unique, out-ofthe-box event pairing international Spirit Medium Karen T. Hluchan with Hatters for Music has become one of the top five funding sources for the organization behind the Hatboro-Horsham Marching Unit.

On April 14, Hluchan, of Horsham, a 1991 Hatboro-Horsham High School alum, will lead the second annual Afternoon With Spirit to benefit the marching unit, which comprises high school students in marching band, indoor percussion, and color guard. The event will be held in the auditorium of Hatboro-Horsham High School with tickets limited to only 150.

“Even though it’s in an auditorium, it’s a very small setting,” Hatters for Music parent volunteer Gina Sweeney said. “It is very personal and it’s very intimate.”

Last year’s event raised more than $3,000 for the marching unit, with Hluchan bringing through spirits to connect with audience members in compelling ways. A recently deceased mother told her daughter to take the trip to Ireland that the two of them had been planning. An ex-father-in-law apologized to his son’s ex-wife about how his son had treated her during their marriage.

“The more people that are in the room, the more detailed the information,” Hluchan explained. “When I do group readings it’s not like all the people in spirit are like ‘hey, hey, hey.’ Those up in heaven have already decided who’s coming through and what they want to share.”

Using all Hluchan’s senses, those in spirit bring through information about their personality, what they looked like, hobbies, jobs, how they passed, and more to establish the match with the audience members. Once the connection is made, direct messages are shared from their loved ones in spirit, including guidance, knowledge of events on earth, love, information about the future, and much more.

“My body naturally turns toward the direction of the person they’re supposed to be matched with,” Hluchan said of clues spirits provide, adding that some have come through wearing clothing identical to their loved ones. “There are interesting things they do to make the match.”

Hluchan, of Healing Spirit with Love, is a spirit medium connecting countless people with their deceased loved ones. A published author, mediumship instructor, and sought-after international presence, Hluchan has worked with clients on six continents, including grammy-winning musicians, celebrities, and people in almost every state in the U.S. to bridge the gap between loved ones seeking to reach their family and friends who have crossed over into Heaven.

Sweeney, whose mother came through during one of her other events in the area, said she’s seen first-hand how authentic Hluchan is.

“There’s such interesting things that come out of it,” Sweeney said. “It’s all about connections and love.”

The Hatters for Music fundraiser, featuring Spirit Medium Karen T. Hluchan to benefit the Hatboro-Horsham Marching Unit, will be held on Sunday, April 14 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Hatboro-Horsham High School, 899 Horsham Road in Horsham. Hluchan is selling tickets on her website, which range in price from $35 to $70 for general admission and two tiers of VIP tickets. Each ticket includes an entry into a drawing for a $115 gift certificate good toward Hluchan’s products and services, a signed hardcover edition of her book, “How Have You Loved?” and a set of 11 Spirit Animal Art greeting cards.
