Elizabeth Rose Giovanniel­lo Kendall

MONTICELLO/PORT JERVIS - Elizabeth Rose Kendall, long-time resident of both Monticello and Port Jervis, NY, passed away suddenly on January 5, 2024, at New York-Presbyteri­an Hospital. She was surrounded by her adoring family, Duane, Rob, and Mary. She was 75 years old.

Daughter of Isidore and Mary Giovanniel­lo, she was born on July 21, 1948, at New York Hospital in Manhattan. She spent her early childhood years in Brooklyn, NY, before Isidore and Mary moved their young family upstate to Port Jervis, NY.

She graduated from SUNY Oneonta with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and English, then went on to have a lifelong career as the Data Administra­tor with the Monticello Central School District.

Elizabeth loved trips to the beach, photograph­y, and going to the theatre. But she found the most joy in her life simply by spending time with friends, family, dear former co-workers and college classmates, her devoted husband of 54 years, Duane, and her beloved grandson, Liam.

She is survived by her husband Duane Kendall, son Robert Kendall, daughter Mary Kendall and her partner Anthony Rolla, grandson Liam Garcia, brother Rocco Giovanniel­lo and his wife AnnMarie, brother Dominic Giovanniel­lo and his wife Jill, sisterAnna Drapala, sister-in-law Dale Clukies and her partner Jerry Goldman, brother-in-law Donald Kendall and his wife Barbara, and mother Mary Giovanniel­lo, age 97. She was also a beloved aunt and great-aunt to her many nieces and nephews.

She is predecease­d by her father, Isidore Giovanniel­lo, and brother-in-law, Steven Drapala.

Elizabeth was a beautiful soul and to know her was to love her. Our lives have been forever touched by her loving kindness and will not be the same without her.

Visitation hours are Thursday, January 11th, from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the KnightAuch­moody Funeral Home, 154 East Main Street, Port Jervis, NY 12771. Following the visitation, burial will take place at Saint Mary's Cemetery.
