PORT JERVIS - Rosemary Cherry age 89 of Port Jervis, N.Y. passed away on Tuesday, March 19, 2024 at the Valley View Center for Nursing Care in Goshen, N.Y. Rosemary was born in New Martinsvil­le, West Virginia the daughter of John Ewing and Bessie Hoskins Tippens. Rosemary’s family moved to Port Jervis when she was 18, where she worked in Little Tots clothing factory and the Tri-State Diner. Rosemary and Jake were married for 56 years before his death in 2010. Earlier in her life, she and Jake enjoyed many seasons with friends at the RockView Country Club and traveling after retirement. Rosemary could be seen on any given Saturday shopping with her best friend Julie Olenick, which usually ended with a glass of wine at one of their houses at the end of the day. She will be remembered by her grandchild­ren for her love and many holiday meals at her home. In addition to her husband Jacob and her parents she was preceded by six siblings, Ruth Ann Bently, Betty Hayes, Elmo Tippens, Robert Mike Tippens, John Tippens, and Phyllis Thomas. She is survived by her son Craig Cherry and wife Teresa of Glen Spey, and daughter Tammy Rotolo of Port Jervis; Grandchild­ren Jessica, Cody, Ashley, Lauren, Raquel, Lexus, and her great granddaugh­ter Roselyn and great grandsons Lucas and Easton. She is also survived by brother Jerry Tippens of Lancaster Ohio and many nieces and nephews. The family will have a private service and burial in the Pine Hill Cemetery, Sparrowbus­h, NY.
