SolTrans providing shuttle service to seniors for Thanksgivi­ng event

Vallejo Together Community, Vallejo Moose Lodge no. 468 and SolTrans are partnering to bring the community together on Thanksgivi­ng Day.

A free Thanksgivi­ng lunch will be offered from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Vallejo Moose Lodge 337, Nebraska St. and SolTrans will provide free service to and from the event.

The annual Thanksgivi­ng

meal, aimed to ensure seniors are not alone on the holiday, will be run entirely by volunteers, with home-made decoration­s, donated food and dessert items, and live entertainm­ent, according to a press release. SolTrans will pickup and drop-off seniors who would not otherwise be able to attend. For those who cannot or do not wish to attend, Vallejo Together Community will also prepare packaged bags and deliver them.

“Vallejo Together Community, the Vallejo Moose Lodge as well as SolTrans are working hard at this community collaborat­ive and are excited to bring this much needed meal to its residents!” said Christine Arnold, community liaison for Vallejo Moose Lodge and Vallejo Together Community.

SolTrans will provide free service to and from various senior living facilities in Vallejo.

Shuttle pick up and drop off times will be finalized Wednesday, once finalized a list of pickup locations and times will be available by visiting SolTrans.org or calling Customer Service at (707) 648-4666.
