Solano County Superior Court proceedings advance for Vallejo rapper Lul G, aka George Harris, 21, charged with the July murder of a man in Clark County, Nev.

Harris appeared Thursday morning in Department 9 for a readiness conference and the setting of a preliminary hearing, but the proceedings were, once again, delayed.

Judge Carlos R. Gutierrez rescheduled Harris’ next court date, to include a motion to reduce bail, for 8:30 a.m. Dec. 10 in Department 9 in the Justice Center in Fairfield.

Solano County Sheriff’s Department records indicate Harris, a rising star in the Bay Area and national rap scene when accused of fatally shooting another man on July 24 in Nevada, was arrested on Sept. 21. He is being held without bail at the Stanton Correctional Facility in Fairfield. He pleaded not guilty at his jail arraignment on Sept. 23.

Rolling Stone magazine and Pitchfork and XXL, among other websites, first reported the arrest.

Court records show that the Solano County District Attorney’s Office filed its complaint against Harris, who has a prior felony conviction, on Aug. 29. Few other details were provided, except that the victim’s name was referred to by initials only, R.F.

Harris gained fame as a member of the Vallejo rap quartet SOB x RBE, a group known for its frenetic, sparse, and familial songs like “Anti” and “Always.” He was part of the group that had a breakout spot with “Paramedic!” on the “Black Panther” film soundtrack in 2018, curated by Pulitzer Prizewinning rapper Kendrick Lamar (“DAMN”). It is the third top-grossing film of all time, behind “Star Wars: The Force Awakening” (2015) and “Avatar” (2009).

What appear to be several choreographed and slickly produced videos on YouTube show the group brandishing firearms, flashing dozens of $100 bills, and cavorting around expensive sports cars with young women.

But frequent break-up rumors and solo deals apparently hobbled the group, and Harris left SOB x RBE in 2018 and later signed a deal with Def Jam records.

Three months ago, Harris released a video, “By Myself.”

Rolling Stone reported that Harris allegedly had been on probation since age 17, for armed robbery and gun charges, but the DA’s complaint only referred to a prior unspecified conviction and offered no corroborating details.

Harris is being defended by Vallejo-based attorney Claire J. White.

If found guilty at trial of first-degree murder, he could received a prison term of 25 years to life.
