Hauser helps improve Keelhauler­s to 8-1

The Cal Maritime men’s basketball team beat host Westcliff 79-68 on Monday evening in nonleague play.

The two teams were tied 36-all at halftime before the Keelhauler­s (8-1) took control in the second half.

Josh Hauser finished with 23 points, three assists and three steals for Cal Maritime. Cetrick Yearney had 10 points and eight boards. Matthew Eissien had 12 points, and Evan

Madill added 11 points. Trey Porter pulled down seven rebounds.

Cal Maritime shot 40 percent from the field.

The Keelhauler­s are back in action next Tuesday when they travel to UC Santa Cruz.

Women’s basketball

Westcliff 64, Cal Maritime 44

The Cal Maritime women’s basketball team lost to host Westcliff 64-44 on Monday in nonleague play.

Jesse Bethel grad Liz Martinez had a team-high 10 points and Kim Masulit had nine points. Alicia Porter had nine boards and Kiara Warren had three assists.

Cal Maritime (0-8) trailed just 19-13 after a quarter but was outscored 20-7 in the second period.

The Keelhauler­s lost to Hope 71-58 on Tuesday. Stats for that game were not available at press time.

Winter Baseball Camp

Solano Community College is hosting a four-week baseball camp starting Jan. 4. Solano head coach Scott

Stover will direct the program in conjunctio­n with U.S. Baseball Academy.

Classes are available for players in grades 1-12 and are limited to seven players per coach. Sessions are offered in hitting, pitching, catching, fielding and baserunnin­g.
