Labor council endorses Hannigan, Williams for board of supervisor­s

The Napa Solano Central Labor Council announced Monday that it has endorsed Solano County Supervisor Erin Hannigan and businesswo­man K. Patrice Williams for the county board of supervisor­s.

Hannigan is seeking a third term on the board representi­ng District 1, which covers all of Vallejo north of Georgia Street. Williams, who started BrandGOV, a Community Outreach Firm in 2007, is looking to unseat Solano County Supervisor Monica Brown for the District 2 seat.

The seat includes the city of Benicia, portions of Fairfield, Mare Island, and all of Vallejo located south of Georgia Street.

A retired school teacher, Brown won election to the board in 2016.

The council also announced that it’s endorsing incumbents Rep. Mike Thompson, D-St. Helena, for the California’s 5th Congressio­nal District; John Garamendi for the 3rd Congressio­nal District; Bill Dodd for California’s 3rd State Senate district, Cecilia Aguiar-Curry for California’s 4th State Assembly District, and Tim Grayson for the 14th State Assembly district.

“We feel that the candidates we decided on reflect the same values we fight for every day for working men and women and look forward to working to help them get elected,” said Jon Riley, executive director of the labor council, in the same announceme­nt.

Riley said over 20 affiliates participat­ed in the endorsemen­t process.

The CLC also voted to endorse a slate for delegates to the County Democratic Central Committee:

For District 1: Lynette Henley, Tiffanee Jones, Morgan Hannigan, Karen Sims, and Thomas Bilbo.

District 2: Jackie Arnold, Gethsemane Moss, Corey Penrose, Steve Young.

District 3: Verneal Brumfield, Danny Espinosa, Bonnie Hamilton, Steve Quinlan.

District 5: Jeanette Wylie, Paul Stichick, Kevin McNamara, Mona Whitney-Jacoves, and Doriss Panduro.
