Times-Herald (Vallejo)

Thank you, Times-Herald staff

-

Reading the Vallejo TimesHerald’s 2019 Review inspired me to write each of the staff members whose work I enjoy:

• John Glidden — Thank you for your contributions in the Times-Herald. Reading your review in Sunday’s paper made me appreciate even more all you and the other reporters do.

Thank you so much for reminding us how valuable newspapers are. You enlighten us and work very hard to keep us informed. You help keep the lights on in these dark times.

• Richard Freedman — I want to thank you for your work in the Herald. What I like most is your wit. I’ve been a longtime subscriber and as I read stories I think, that’s got to be written by Richard Freedman. I hope you have a great 2020.

• Matt O’Donnell — Thank you for all your hard work in attending and reporting on sports for the Times-Herald. You have such a large geographical area and somehow manage to detail so many sports. It is about time to say thanks. So, thanks!

• Thomas Gase — I want to thank you for your contributions to the Times-Herald. I really enjoyed the story you did on CC Sabathia in today’s paper. Whenever I read a story in the Times-Herald I look for who wrote it. The value of what you do, and what you write, and even how you write in invaluable. You help shine the light on events and what’s going on.

Thank you for being such a good reporter and keeping us informed!

• Chris Riley — Thank you for your beautiful pictures that continue to wow us. The Times-Herald does such a wonderful job of printing your creations in color. I am always especially amazed at your stop action sports shots. You have such a wonderful eye and seem to capture just the right image. Sometimes I clip your images and put them on my refrigerator to enjoy longer.

I think you should consider making a book. The picture coming to mind right now was from a few days ago, and it showed a man walking in the beautiful fall leaves. I always look under the picture to see the name of the contributor. Newspapers are a valuable institution and your work is very valuable.

Thank you!

• Jack F.K. Bungart — What a great tribute to you and your staff in all the work that was accomplished in 2019. I can only imagine how hard and tedious your work as editor must be. Thank you for hanging in there and providing the eyes and ears for us. Congratulations for having such a stellar staff who continue to perform so well. Most of all thank you for being you. Bless you.

The doors of newspapers must remain open at all costs.
