Says it all
All I need to know about Jack King — a real environmentalist — and his stance on climate change is summed up in this telling sentence:
“Oh, you know, like that petulant little Nordic child we’ve heard about.”
He, of course, is referring to Time’s 2019 Person of the Year, 16-year-old Greta Thunberg of Sweden, chosen for her climate change activism. Jack is sadly in lockstep with the envious Donald Trump and his disparaging tweets directed at Ms. Thunberg. Essentially endorsing the bullying of a 16-yearold girl because of a differing opinion? Nice Jack. A new low.
And I didn’t feel it necessary to delve deeper into Michael Moore’s documentary, “Planet of the Humans,” because I’d seen an earlier interview about it with Mr. Moore, whom I greatly admire. It, as I stated in my previous letter, among other things has to do with corruption in the manufacture of renewable energy products and how the environmental movement has been, as Mr. Moore mentioned, “taken over by billionaires and bankers.” Well, knock me over with a feather. Of course they’re involved. They’re billionaires and bankers and there’s lots of
money to be made.
But my primary point was and is, that no matter who makes money off of the technology, the primary goal is achieved: Addressing climate change with green energy sources. In this case, it’s the end result that’s important, not necessarily the method used to get there. Or, to put it in simpler terms, Jack, it’s the destination, not the trip.
And it appeared as though you’d amended your climate change stance when you modified your narrative with the wording, “climate corruption.” If I’m wrong, gee, I’m sorry.
But I’d prefer to see this as growth, Jack, an acceptance, if you will. Proud of you, whether you want it or not. And Jack, FYI, the Coronado Inn was a little too “country” for me. I was more of a Melody Club guy. Yet another difference between us.
