Vote for McConnell
As a longtime resident of Vallejo, networking with many cultural, social and musical events over the years including at the Empress Theater, VinoGodfather and 2nd Friday ArtWalk, I ask you all to strongly support Robert McConnell for District-1 Solano County Supervisor in the March 3 primary. Integrity, consistency and no-nonsense approach are the first things that come to my mind when I think of McConnell and his voting record, policy statements and many sharp questions during public hearings and city council meetings.
Robert is easy to talk to. He always patiently listens to people, does his research (legal and otherwise) and makes rational, logical and common sense based comments that impact the public, especially the poor, the working class, and the veterans (McConnell is a decorated Vietnam veteran).
When a mayor or a group of council members appears to be swayed by either an influential campaign funds donor and/ or other interests, Robert does not hesitate to be firm, fair, fiscally justifiable — be it city budget, PB, Arts projects, Planning or zoning, Mare Island development, Sonoma 2040 or Water Front Development. Robert rightly recuses himself if there is any conflict of interest, unlike some other politicians that dodge conflict or act like it does not matter. That is Robert McConnell’s integrity.
McConnell is mindfully supporting of projects where the veterans, schools, arts and housing/rentals are concerned about new challenges. He is well balanced in terms of accountability and public service/transparency when supporting Vallejo police and fire departments. His solitary and strong support to support the Mare Island Preserve speaks strongly of his heart and care for the environment.
He attends many public events like parades and festivals, waterfront celebrations, local nonprofit fundraisers, etc. Robert is a strong supporter of all the five Chambers of Commerce in Solano County promoting diversity and business networking fostering strong local mutual collaboration.
He has the all-round expertise, skills and personal touch to make that happen in the 2020s for Vallejo’s much deserving status as a globally famed city in Solano County (with Sister Cities in Japan, Korea, Philippines, Norway, Tanzania, Italy and maybe Mexico soon).
Please support Robert McConnell for District-1 Solano County Supervisor in March.
