Bruins’ Johnson scores 6 goals in win over Bethel

The St. Patrick-St. Vincent High girls soccer team defeated Bethel 11-0 on Tuesday afternoon at Dante Magnani Field.

Alexci Johnson scored six goals and had two assists for the Bruins (7-11, 6-1 in the Tri-County Athletic League Stone Division), while Giovanna Sweeney had three goals and one assist. Johnson now has 21 goals on the season.

Isabella Campos added two goals. Ella Dichoco had three assists, while Marcella Cardona had two assists. Donya Conley also had an assist.

St. Pat’s takes on Salesian Thursday on the road.

Boys soccer

BETHEL 11, SWETT 0 >> The Bethel High boys soccer team defeated Swett 11-0 on Tuesday night.

The Jaguars were led by two-goal games from Richie Valenzeula and Jonathan Olivia. Roberto Panda, Julio Escobar, Matt Cadavid, Alejandro Cano. Maceo Escobar and David Mendoza also had goals for Bethel.

Bethel improved to 10-1-2 and 6-1-2 in the Tri-County Athletic Stone Division, and trail first-place Vallejo and second-place Albany in the standings.

AMERICAN CANYON 3, SONOMA VALLEY 3 >> The American Canyon boys soccer team tied Sonoma Valley 3-3 on Tuesday night.

With the tie, the Wolves are now 1-6-7 overall and 1-2-2 in the Vine Valley Athletic League.

Boys basketball

KENNEDY 61, VALLEJO 57 >> The Vallejo High boys basketball team had its six-game winning streak snapped as the Redhawks fell at home to Kennedy 6157 on Tuesday night.

Deven Johnson had 20 points and Daylan Johnson added 11 for Vallejo. Juwelle Jack had nine and Level Lemmons chipped in eight.

The Redhawks (10-10, 5-2 in the Tri-County Athletic League) will take on Hercules on the road on Friday night.

ALHAMBRA 55, BENICIA 34 >> The Benicia High boys basketball team lost to Alhambra 55-34 on Tuesday night in

Diablo Athletic League play.

The Panthers (6-11, 2-1) led 12-11 after one quarter, but were outscored 27-4 in the third quarter.

Connor Gray scored 16 points for Alhambra in the win. Gavin Lane had 11 points for the Panthers.

Benicia’s next game is Friday at home against Mt. Diablo.

Girls basketball

HERCULES 35, VALLEJO 33 >> The Vallejo High girls basketball team lost to Hercules 35-33 on the road Tuesday night.

The Redhawks fell to 8-13 and 3-5 in the Tri-County Athletic League Stone Division with the loss.

Vallejo’s next game is Tuesday at home against De Anza.
