Solano County Home & Garden Show coming to Solano mall
Once again, Solano County residents will be able to meet experts in fields ranging from roof repair to painting to solar installations while also enjoying food, artisan crafts, kids’ activities and more.
The Solano County Home & Garden Show is back, this time in a new location. After having previously been held at the Dixon Fairgrounds and Nut Tree Plaza, this year the festivities will take place at the former Forever 21 space at the Solano Town Center.
Show promoter Shawna Arzadon said she was walking through the mall as Forever 21 was holding its going out of business sale and thought it would be the perfect venue for the event.
“I approached the mall with it, and they were more than happy to accommodate,” she said. “I thought it would be a great area, it would be a beautiful platform for everybody else to attend, even if they’ve never been to a Home & Garden Show.”
Hundreds of vendors will be on site, allowing homeowners to ask questions, receive estimates and learn more about topics like green energy.
There will also be a Kids’ Zone with crafts, face painting and more. Slime World will be providing slime for kids to play with, My Once Upon a Time will feature famous characters to interact with the kiddies and North Bay Gymnastics will be doing a demonstration. Local crafters and painters will also be on hand to provide potential Valentine’s Day gifts.
Other vendors include Memphphoto.com, which will be providing a digital photobooth; Helton’s Truffles ‘N’ Treats, which will be providing sweet confectionaries; and KUIC, which will kick off the event from noon to 2 p.m. Feb. 8 with music, games and prizes.
Arzadon said the event will allow families to have fun and connect attendees with people to potentially work on their homes.
“It’s good that the community is able to do something that’s family-friendly and fun and that people can get expert advice from people that they can see in person,” she said. “This gives people an opportunity to meet their vendors, the people that are gonna be working in their house when they choose to do their projects.”
The Solano County Home & Garden Show will be held from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Feb. 8 and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Feb. 9 on the upper level of the Solano Town Center above Dick’s Sporting Goods, 1451 Gateway Blvd., Fairfield.
Tickets can bebought at the door on the day of the event and are $8 for general admission, $6 for seniors and military personnel with identification, $4 for children ages 3 to 12 and free for children 2 and under. A coupon for $2 off general admission can be accessed at solanohomeshow.com/ and shown at the door.
