Lo­cal groups and cham­ber host­ing can­di­dates fo­rum

The Com­mu­nity Demo­cratic Club, Vallejo Branch of the NAACP, and the Solano County Black Cham­ber of Com­merce will hold a 2020 Pri­mary Elec­tion Can­di­dates Fo­rum next week.

The fo­rum will in­clude can­di­dates for Solano County Board of Su­per­vi­sors District 1, 2 and 5. Former Vallejo Mayor, and Solano County Su­per­vi­sor, Osby Davis will serve as mod­er­a­tor.

Su­per­vi­sor Erin Han­ni­gan rep­re­sents District 1, which cov­ers all ar­eas of Vallejo north of Ge­or­gia Street. First elected to the seat in 2012, she is be­ing chal­lenged by Vallejo City Coun­cil­man Robert McConnell.

Rep­re­sent­ing District 2, Su­per­vi­sor Mon­ica Brown is seek­ing re-elec­tion to the board of su­per­vi­sors. Busi­ness­women K. Pa­trice Wil­liams and Rochelle Sher­lock are also vy­ing to rep­re­sent the district, which in­cludes the city of Beni­cia, por­tions of Fair­field, Mare Is­land, and all of Vallejo lo­cated south of Ge­or­gia Street.

Mitch Mash­burn, a Va­cav­ille coun­cil­man and lieu­tenant with the Solano County Sher­iff’s Of­fice, is fac­ing off against David Isom, a trustee on the Fair­field-Suisun Uni­fied School District board, for District 5.

District 5 in­cludes parts of Fair­field, Suisun City, Va­cav­ille, and all of Rio Vista and Elmira Area.

The fo­rum is from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., Tues­day, at Friend­ship Mis­sion­ary Bap­tist Church, 1905 Florida St., in Vallejo.
