The second half opened with a Ben Borja scoop shot with his left hand and a Josh Hauser three to force the Pioneers to take a timeout with their lead down to 32-31. The Pioneers would get within six points late but Cal Maritime hit its free throws and got back-toback stops defensively to seal the deal, giving them their first sweep against the Pioneers since 2014-15.
