Vallejo man believed to have killed former partner and son, before killing himself
A 25-year-old Vallejo man is believed to have killed his former partner and the pair’s four-year-old son before killing himself, Vallejo police said Friday.
Authorities said that Jacoby Brandon Brooks is the prime suspect in the homicides, which occurred in different North Vallejo locations.
Police said that around 11:52 p.m. Thursday, they received a report of a woman down in the intersection of Lewis Brown Road and B.W. Williams Drive. When officers arrived they found a woman, 26, dead of at least one gun shot wound.
After learning the woman had a four-year-old son, police went to a home in the 500 block of Quartz Lane in North Vallejo. There they found the boy shot to death.
Brooks was found a short time later in the area south east of the Quartz Lane crime scene dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Police learned that Brooks and the woman “had a prior dating relationship.”
“Additionally, the investigation revealed Brooks and the female victim were believed to be the parents of the deceased 4-year-old,” police added in the same release.
No other information was provided by police. The identity of the victim is being withheld pending official next of kin notification by the Solano County Coroner’s Office, they said.
The two homicides are the second and third homicides in the city of Vallejo for 2020.
