The American Canyon High boys basketball team fell to first-place Vintage 7168 in a heartbreak­er in Vine Valley Athletic League play.

The Wolves were down by 17 points in the third quarter but outscored the Crushers 29-15 in the fourth quarter to make it a close game.

Gabriel Patrick had a career-high 28 points, and Oliver Aandahl had 18 for American Canyon (12-11, 7-5).

The Wolves will find out their North Coast Section playoff fate on Sunday when brackets are released.

Vintage improved to 17-9 overall, 10-2 in league play.

Girls soccer

American Canyon 1, Vintage 1

The American Canyon High girls soccer team concluded the season with a 1-1 tie with Vintage in Vine Valley Athletic League play.

The Wolves (6-12-4, 2-73) trailed 1-0 at halftime before Kyla Martin scored in the second half.

Kaitlyn Mannor and Greta Fast combined for eight saves in goal.

Men’s basketball

Alameda 85, Solano 74

The Solano College men’s basketball team fell to Alameda 85-74 on Friday on Sophomore Night for the Falcons.

Kameron Malbrough had 31 points to pace Alameda (15-11, 8-6), which led 50-34 at halftime.

In a 73-70 loss to Marin on Wednesday, Armon Economou had 16 points while Dunnell Stafford and Jordan Adams both had 13.

The Falcons (11-15, 6-8) are at Mendocino on Wednesday and Napa Valley next Friday.

College baseball

Santa Rosa 14, Solano 3

The Solano College baseball team lost to visiting Santa Rosa 14-3 on Friday in nonleague play at Laurel Creek Park in Fairfield.

Wellington Balsley was 3-for-5 for the Falcons (2-6), who have lost five straight. Herbie Lane was 2-for-4 with a double and RBI, and Brandon Herter was 2-for-5 with an RBI.

Edgar Aquil Cruz pitched well but took the loss, allowing seven hits and three runs in six innings. He struck out seven and walked two.
