Unified Sports coming to Benicia High
Benicia High School announced it is bringing Unified Sports to the school.
This is a partnership with Special Olympics Northern California that aims to promote social inclusion through shared sports training and competition experiences by joining students receiving special education services and their general education peers on the same team. Benicia will start with a Unified basketball team.
American Canyon High School has agreed to partner with Benicia this year — as the Wolves will also be creating a team for the first time.
Benicia will host American Canyon for a game on Monday at 6 p.m. Then, on March 9 at 6 p.m., Benicia will travel to American Canyon to play an away game. Those will be free events and the schools would love to pack the gyms to cheer on the participants.
