Vallejo po­lice ar­rest eight dur­ing pros­ti­tute sting

A nearly two month pros­ti­tute sting by the Vallejo Po­lice Depart­ment’s Crime Re­duc­tion Team (CRT) re­sulted in the ar­rest of eight peo­ple, the depart­ment an­nounced Friday.

In to­tal, one per­son was ar­rested for pimp­ing and pos­sess­ing a loaded firearm, three “johns” were ar­rested, and four adult fe­males were ar­rested for pros­ti­tu­tion, they said.

The op­er­a­tion was con­ducted over mul­ti­ple days be­tween Jan­uary 2020 through the mid­dle of Fe­bru­ary 2020.

CRT de­tec­tives also mon­i­tored so­cial me­dia and es­cort sites for po­ten­tial hu­man traf­fick­ing vi­o­la­tions oc­cur­ring in the city of Vallejo.

On Jan. 14, CRT de­tec­tives uti­lized a male un­der­cover of­fi­cer in the area of Sonoma Boule­vard and Florida Street, pos­ing as a “John.” The un­der­cover of­fi­cer made con­tact with an adult fe­male pros­ti­tute and ne­go­ti­ated an amount of cur­rency in ex­change for an act of pros­ti­tu­tion. De­tec­tives ar­rested the adult fe­male pros­ti­tute.

Later that day, dur­ing a so­cial me­dia hu­man traf­fick­ing in­ves­ti­ga­tion an un­der­cover of­fi­cer be­gan com­mu­ni­cat­ing on­line with an adult fe­male pros­ti­tute who agreed to meet the of­fi­cer at a lo­cal ho­tel to en­gage in the act of pros­ti­tu­tion.

The CRT de­tec­tives ob­served 38-year-old Hayward res­i­dent, Michael Lit­tle, drop off the pros­ti­tute. De­tec­tives ar­rested the adult fe­male pros­ti­tute for pros­ti­tu­tion and then ar­rested Lit­tle for pimp­ing and pan­der­ing.

Dur­ing a search of Lit­tle’s ve­hi­cle, the de­tec­tives lo­cated a loaded Glock Hand­gun. Lit­tle is pro­hib­ited from car­ry­ing a firearm as he is a con­victed felon.

On Jan. 15, the CRT de­tec­tives again uti­lized a male un­der­cover of­fi­cer to con­tact an adult fe­male in the area of Florida Street and Marin Street. The first fe­male agreed to en­gage in the act of pros­ti­tu­tion with the un­der­cover of­fi­cer and was ar­rested. The un­der­cover of­fi­cer re­turned to the area a short time later and spoke with a sec­ond adult fe­male who also agreed to en­gage in the act of pros­ti­tu­tion with the un­der­cover of­fi­cer. The sec­ond fe­male pros­ti­tute was also ar­rested.

On Feb.11, CRT de­tec­tives uti­lized a fe­male un­der­cover of­fi­cer to ad­dress pros­ti­tu­tion com­plaints in the area of Florida Street and Sonoma Boule­vard. A 63-year-old Vallejo res­i­dent was ar­rested af­ter he ini­ti­ated a con­ver­sa­tion with the un­der­cover of­fi­cer and ne­go­ti­ated an overt act of pros­ti­tu­tion.

Within min­utes af­ter the first ar­rest, a 26-year-old Vallejo res­i­dent ap­proached the same un­der­cover of­fi­cer and ne­go­ti­ated an act of pros­ti­tu­tion. De­tec­tives ar­rested the man for so­lic­i­ta­tion of pros­ti­tu­tion.

The next day, the CRT de­tec­tives again uti­lized a fe­male un­der­cover to pose as a pros­ti­tute. They fo­cused on the area of Florida Street and Marin Street. A 28-yearold Vallejo res­i­dent was ar­rested af­ter he ini­ti­ated a con­ver­sa­tion with the of­fi­cer and ne­go­ti­ated an act of pros­ti­tu­tion.

“The Vallejo Po­lice Depart­ment is com­mit­ted to tack­ling qual­ity of life is­sues in our city. We un­der­stand that hu­man traf­fick­ing is a pro­lific is­sue, and as we move for­ward, we plan to take a vic­tim-cen­tered ap­proach to en­force­ment,” they said in a news re­lease. “Hu­man traf­fick­ing and acts of pros­ti­tu­tion will not be tol­er­ated in Vallejo. The Vallejo Po­lice Depart­ment plans to con­tinue sim­i­lar op­er­a­tions in the fu­ture.”
