SACRAMENTO >> The Fair Political Practices Commission (FPPC) has developed a public service announcement to give the public more guidance on how and where to find information about the money behind political campaigns and their political advertising, the agency announced this week.

“We are here to help the public find the information they’re looking for and to make it easier for them to know who’s paying for political ads, so they can make more informed choices,” said FPPC Chair Richard C. Miadich in a statement released by the agency. “People get inundated with the advertising and our goal is to help them navigate through the complex system to get the information they want and deserve.”

The PSA is in both English

and Spanish and provides a link at the end of the video to a new page on the FPPC website. The page has information on how to track the money in campaigns as well as how to find who’s paying for political advertising.

A link to the English version can be found at https://player.vimeo.com/ video/393060545.

A Spanish version can be found at https:// player.vimeo.com/ video/393720535.

The page provided at the end of the video also provides a link to report any violations the public may find in the advertising or other campaign violations, as well as basic election information, such as how to register to vote.

The Fair Political Practices Commission (FPPC) is California’s governmental ethics and campaign disclosure agency.
