American Canyon High baseball routs former league foe Bethel
The American Canyon High baseball team beat Jesse Bethel 10-1 on Monday in a nonleague battle between the two former Solano County Athletic Conference foes.
The Wolves (2-0) scored five in the fourth and four more in the fifth to break it open.
Vinne Espejo was 2-for-4 with a triple and five RBIs for American Canyon. Victor Vega was 2-for-3 with three RBIs, and Angel Cota had a double.
Roman Webb went the first four innings, striking out six and not allowing a hit. Nate Countouriotis
pitched the final two innings, allowing one hit and one run while fanning two.
American Canyon is back in action on Friday against nonleague rival Benicia. Bethel takes on Hercules on Wednesday at home.
Vallejo 13, Richmond 0
The Vallejo High School baseball team beat visiting Richmond 13-0 on Monday in nonleague play.
The Redhawks (2-0) had a combined no-hitter as David Whitten went three and Marshaun Gaines went two. The two combined for five strikeouts and two walks allowed.
Carson Williams and Jaylyn Kelly continued to do major damage at the plate. Williams was 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs, two runs and a steal. Kelly was 3-for-3 with an RBI, run scored and a steal. Kyle Tamonte, Marshaun Gaines, Jesse Huerta all had two hits. Vallejo had 13 hits total for the afternoon.
Vallejo is at San Lorenzo on Friday.
Albany 7, Bethel 0
The Bethel High boys tennis team lost to Albany 7-0 on Monday in Tri-County Athletic League play.
The Jaguars (0-2)
will take on Tuesday.
Vallejo PAL sign-ups
Vallejo PAL will be having fastpitch softball and TBall sign-ups on Wednesday from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the PAL Office, 301 Wallace Ave.
T-Ball is open to boys and girls ages 4 to 7. Softball is open to girls ages 7 to 12.
Registration fees are $100 with candy sales and $130 without candy sales.
