Vallejo High track does well at last week’s event

In what seems like eons ago, the Vallejo High track team com­peted at the Vallejo Re­lays on March 7 and many Red­hawks did very well.

Sameerah Evans won the triple jump, long jump and 100-me­ter dash. She leaped 40 feet, 1 inch in the triple jump and fin­ished the 100 M in 12.98 sec­onds.

Der­rickka Earnest won the 100 hur­dles (19.91), while Amil­lion Hicks won the 300 hur­dles (53.58). Bella Vi­dal won the high jump, while Arai Baker won the dis­cus.

Lataya Bush, Talea White, Kim­berly Zavala and Hicks were on a 4-by100 re­lay team that took first place.

On the boys side Devon Ba­clay won the 100 and the triple jump. He leaped 34.4 in the triple jump while reg­is­ter­ing a 12.72 time in the 100.

Gil­bert Wah won the 300 hur­dles with a time of 46.78.

Ba­clay, Larond Har­ris, Wah and Al­lan Lopiz won the 4-by-100 race with a time of 47.33.
