American Canyon players make all-VVAL team
The Vine Valley Athletic League announced its allleague team for girls basketball.
The co-MVPs were Trinity Nerwin of Casa Grande and Sheriene Arikat of Petaluma. The Defensive MVP was Kaliyah Hensic of Sonoma Valley.
American Canyon had sophomore Trinity Billingsley on the second team. She averaged 12.4 points, 5.2 rebounds and 2.7 steals per game for the
Wolves. American Canyon had two players receive honorable mention honors — freshman Jazmine Fontilla and senior Louralei Salanga.
The first team consisted of Anna Ghisletta (Napa), Kennedy Midgley (Sonoma), Rose Nevin (Petaluma), Lizzie Qui (Vintage) and Emma Reese (Casa Grande).
Vallejo Redhawks looking for volunteers
The Vallejo Jr. Redhawks youth football and cheer organization is seeking volunteers who can help on the board as well as football and cheerleading coaches.
The football levels are ages 5 to 15 and the cheer levels are 4 to 15.
Must be able to pass a background check. No experience needed.
There are a discounted rate for players or cheerleaders for coaches who volunteer.
