Amer­i­can Canyon play­ers make all-VVAL team

The Vine Val­ley Ath­letic League an­nounced its al­l­league team for girls bas­ket­ball.

The co-MVPs were Trin­ity Ner­win of Casa Grande and She­riene Arikat of Pe­taluma. The De­fen­sive MVP was Kaliyah Hen­sic of Sonoma Val­ley.

Amer­i­can Canyon had sopho­more Trin­ity Billings­ley on the sec­ond team. She av­er­aged 12.4 points, 5.2 re­bounds and 2.7 steals per game for the

Wolves. Amer­i­can Canyon had two play­ers re­ceive hon­or­able men­tion hon­ors — fresh­man Jazmine Fon­tilla and se­nior Louralei Salanga.

The first team con­sisted of Anna Ghisletta (Napa), Kennedy Mid­g­ley (Sonoma), Rose Nevin (Pe­taluma), Lizzie Qui (Vin­tage) and Emma Reese (Casa Grande).

Vallejo Red­hawks look­ing for vol­un­teers

The Vallejo Jr. Red­hawks youth foot­ball and cheer or­ga­ni­za­tion is seek­ing vol­un­teers who can help on the board as well as foot­ball and cheer­lead­ing coaches.

The foot­ball lev­els are ages 5 to 15 and the cheer lev­els are 4 to 15.

Must be able to pass a back­ground check. No ex­pe­ri­ence needed.

There are a dis­counted rate for play­ers or cheer­lead­ers for coaches who vol­un­teer.
