Trial date changed for Solano man, 75, accused of child molestation
A Solano County Superior Court judge has rescheduled a trial date, among other proceedings, for a 75-year- old accused child molester.
Judge Carlos R. Gutierrez ordered Jack R. Adams, a Solano County man charged w ith multiple counts of sexual acts with a child, including sex with a child under 10, to return to Department 9 for a jury trial at 9 a.m. Jan. 27. He also set two pretrial proceedings, a trial readiness conference and a trial management conference, at 8:30 a.m. Oct. 28 and 8:30 a.m. Jan. 15, respectively.
Adams was scheduled to appear Wednesday morning in Gutierrez’s courtroon in the Justice Center in Fairfield for a readiness conference and a trial setting in the two-year- old case.
During earlier proceedings in the case, Gutierrez ordered Adams and his Sacramento- based attorney, Adam Weiner, to return for a late-February jury trial, but the judge apparently rescheduled it for the January date, court records indicate.
Deputy District Attorney Becky Self leads the prosecution.
Court records indicate Adams was arrested on July 7, 2017, and charged with more than 10 felony counts. Besides sex with a child under 10 or younger, they include at least seven counts of lewd acts on a child; sending explicit sexual matter to a minor; and preventing or dissuading a witness from attending or giving testimony.
Adams, according to court documents, posted $1 million in bail on Sept. 21, 2017, and apparently was released from custody. He was held to answer for the allegations on April 10, 2018.
If found guilty of all the charges, Adams may spend the rest of his life in prison.
