Benicia High boys tennis defeats Concord in DAL play

The Benicia High boys tennis team swept Concord on Tuesday afternoon, winning 6-0, in Diablo Athletic League play.

The Panthers had a win from No. 1 team consisting of brothers Lorenzo and Giacomo Biatta, who won 6-1, 6-0.

Other winners for Benicia included the teams of Camron Jacobson and Jason Ikenaga, Adrian Hanford and Ben Flitcroft, along with Daniel Zhang playing with Arman Bance.

Getting default victories for Benicia were the teams of Rohan Jadzev and Noah Cillo, along with Michael Jew and Sam Miller.

Softball

BENICIA 22, NORTHGATE 3 >> The Benicia softball team won a blowout against Northgate 22-3 on Tuesday.

Tayler Murphy had four hits, including a home run, to go with six RBIs. Bailey Sample had three hits and three RBIs, while Kaydence Kinder and Kalia Dondoy each homered for the Panthers (2-1). Lorenzza

Marcacci and Breana Gomez each had two hits.

Dondoy earned the win in the circle by throwing five innings and giving up just three hits.

Benicia’s next contest is a Thursday home game against Clayton Valley.

Girls tennis

VINTAGE 6, AMERICAN CANYON1>> The American Canyon girls tennis team lost its second match in a row, this one to Vintage, 6-1.

The lone win for the Wolves (4-2) came from

No. 4 singles player Ezrielle Llave, who defeated Morgan Wright 6-3, 6-3.

Local golf

DYLAN THOMAS SHOOTS HOLE-IN-ONE >> Dylan Thomas of Pleasant Hill had a hole-in-one Tuesday at Blue Rock Springs.

Thomas shot his first career ace with an eight iron on the third hole of the west course.

Thomas has been playing golf for six years.

Witnesses for the shot included TJ Valentine, Isaac Apger and Peter Campora.
