Benicia High boys golf team grabs first at DAL meet
The Benicia High School boys golf team finished first in the Diablo Athletic League’s final tournament last week at Diablo Creek Golf Course.
The Panthers had a score of 418, Clayton Valley had 421, Alhambra a 429, College Park a 455 and Berean Christian a 484.
James McNally fired a 75 to lead Benicia. T.J. Valentine carded an 81, Aiden Ross an 82, Robert St Jacques an 88 and Josh Hull a 92.
The Benicia girls took third, the team’s top finish this season.
College Park had a 490, Alhambra a 531, Benicia with 555 and Clayton Valley with a 560.
Local Golf VALLEJO RESIDENT SHOOTS
HOLE-IN-ONE >> Vallejo’s Dariusz Ochtera, 60, fired a hole-in-one recently at Blue Rock Springs Golf Club.
His hole-in-one came on the East course. He used a 9-iron to ace the 129-yard, No. 6 hole.
Ochtera has been golfing for 20 years. It was his first hole-in-one.
Witnesses included James Rhodes, Brian Schrelett and Eddie Baumberger.
