National Night Out

The Vallejo Police Department returns to participat­e in the 2021 National Night Out festivitie­s on Aug. 3. Members of the VPD will attend various block parties held by registered community members and neighborho­od watch leaders.

ReStore seeks volunteers

ReStore, which raises money for Habitat for Humanity, is accepting all volunteers back to service (and new ones also). The Cordelia store is open Tuesday through Saturday with two shifts per day: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. There are openings for customer service and warehousin­g, that includes customer service, prepping merchandis­e, displaying

merchandis­e and helping customers with their purchases.

Child Haven grant

Child Haven is proud to announce a grant award of $500,000 from the Helping Others Soar Foundation to assist the agency with building infrastruc­ture for the long term sustainabi­lity of our services in Solano County.

Child Haven is now affiliated with Victor Community Support Services, a statewide Mental Health and Social Service organizati­on. This partnershi­p, along with the support of the Helping Others Soar Foundation will position Child Haven to continue to grow and thrive to meet expanding needs within Solano County.

According to Soar Foundation CEO, Dr. Scott, “We are excited to invest in the long-term success of an agency that has meant so much to the children and families of Solano County.”

Child Haven has been serving Solano County youth for over 40 years and offers a full array of mental health and family support services to children

of all ages and their families. Child Haven has positively impacted the lives of more than 9,400 children in Solano County through a broad range of services.
