Josephine V Agosta, 98, passed away July 20 at Kaiser Hospital in Vacaville following a long illness. Josephine was born in Santa Rosa, CA to Carmello and Rosa DiPerno. In 1942 she married Joseph Agosta and moved to Crockett. In 1949 they moved to Vallejo, where she resided for over 70 years.

Josephine was a member of the Order Sons and Daughters of Italy, Beatrice Portinari Lodge #1626, Native Daughters of the Golden West and VFW Auxillary.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph; her parents; her sister, Mary Cia; her brother, Frank DiPerno; and her son-in-law, Donald Cahan.

Survivors include her daughters, Susan Cahan, Jeanette (Butch) Arietta; son, Sal (Cynthia) Agosta; grandchild­ren, Lisa (Roger) Cox, Jana (Jason) Cahan-Houston, Rose (Tim) Beeler, Daniel Agosta, Andria Agosta and Jenny (Jim) Hower; great-grandchild­ren, Joseph, Jonathan, Anthony, Sean, Zakkary, Landon, Lucy, Katherine, Darren and Carson; great-great-grandsons, Nicklaus and Jude and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Friday, July 30 from 10 a.m to 12:30 p.m. at Twin Chapels Mortuary, 1100 Tennessee St., Vallejo. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1 p.m. at St Basil’s Catholic Church, Vallejo. Entombment will follow at All Souls Cemetery.
