Eric Lee Burse also known as “Pops,” age 63, passed away peacefully at his home in Sacramento, CA on Thursday, April 7, 2022.
Born May 4, 1958 in Vallejo, CA to Ocie Lee and Cleo J. Burse, he was a long time member of New Life Christian Church in American Canyon, CA. Eric enjoyed his family, music, sports, fishing, movies and The Food Network.
A true native of Vallejo, Eric worked for the City of Vallejo Water Department as a Field Specialist where he retired after 26 years of service. It was working for the city that Eric built and facilitated relationships with City Officials, the Police and Fire Department, Management and other employees.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ocie Lee Burse of Vallejo, CA; mother, Cleo J. Burse of Vallejo, CA; and sister, Patricia Marie Jackson of Vallejo, CA.
He is survived by his loving wife, Carolee M. Burse of Napa, CA; son, Jermaine D. Burse and daughter, Tiana N. Burse, both of American Canyon, CA; grandchildren, Nataliya M. Burse, Jordan C. Burse, Adaya Burse-Perez; nephew, Tony Longmire of Vallejo, CA; niece, Tenisha M. Longmire of Vallejo, CA; nephew, Tevis L. Snowden of Vallejo, CA; and a host of loving family and friends.
The viewing will take place on Wednesday, April 20, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Skyview Memorial Lawn, 200 Rollingwood Drive, Vallejo, CA 94591 and the service will take place on Thursday, April 21, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Revival Center, 910 Tennessee St, Vallejo, CA 94590.
Mary Ann Fitzpatrick
September 3, 1943 - April 3, 2022

Mary Ann was born to James and Jeanette Davis. She was raised on Ryder Street in Vallejo, graduating from Vallejo High School in 1961, Vallejo Junior College in 1963 and Sacramento State College in 1965.
She became a columnist for The Vallejo Times Herald, and later became a columnist and editor for Vallejo Independent Press. She continued her career at Mare Island Naval Shipyard, transferred to Fleet Technical Support Center in Pearl Harbor, HI and finally retired from Travis Air Force Base.
She was a dedicated member of First Presbyterian Church and Community Presbyterian Church in Vallejo.
Mary Ann is survived by husband, Howard Fitzpatrick; sister, Bonnie Davis-Grunseth; daughter, Michele Fitzer; son, James Magnuson; as well as son, Nicholas Fitzpatrick; her seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, who called her Deda.
Mary Ann greatly enjoyed family and many long-time friends, volunteering at her church and in her community, her sorority, and being a homemaker and keeping a beautiful yard. In retirement, she enjoyed extensive travel through all fifty states, Canada, and Great Britain. A historian at heart, she made wonderful scrapbooks documenting all her travels.
Her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 26 at the Tulocay Cemetery Mausoleum in Napa.
Marilyn J. Van Zevern February 14, 1931 – January 10, 2022

Marilyn J. Van Zevern, 90, passed away on January 10, 2022.
Marilyn was a beloved teacher, a dear friend and mentor to many at St. Basil School for over 40 years. She served as teacher and Co-Director in the Parish Religious Education Program and also served as a Eucharistic Minister, Lector and Lazarus Minister.
Marilyn was very active in the community as a driver for American Cancer Society patients and was a volunteer in many departments at Kaiser Hospital.
Marilyn was a devoted mother to her sons, Mark and Kirk, and truly embraced their families.
A celebration of life for Marilyn will held on April 29 at 11 a.m. at St. Basil the Great Catholic Church with Fr. Leon Juchniewicz officiating. Reception will immediately follow the mass.
Charity donations may be sent to St. Basil School scholarship program, American Cancer Society, Alzheimer’s Association or a charity of the donor’s choice.
