VPD investigat­ing homicide, 10th of year

The Vallejo Police Department reported that the city's 10th homicide occurred late Wednesday evening.

About 11:28 p.m., officers responded to the report of a shooting in the 3400 block of Hazelwood Street.

Upon arrival, officers found an adult male victim inside of a vehicle suffering from at least one gunshot wound.

Officers attempted lifesaving measures and the Vallejo Fire and EMS responded and pronounced the victim dead at the scene.

The department's Detective Division responded to take the over the investigat­ion.

The motive and circumstan­ces involving this shooting are under investigat­ion at this time.

The name of the victim is being withheld pending notificati­ons by the Solano County Coroner, according to VPD.
