Time for standardized testing to go

Shame on Gov. Newsom, Tony Thurmond, the California State Board of Education, the California Legislature, and the U.S. Department of Education for subjecting the state's third-grade students to the horrific standardized testing that now occurs online.

This unnecessary, anxietyproducing assessment was made even harder today with students having great difficulty logging on. Why put our teachers and students through this stress?

It's time to do away with standardized testing and return to trusting our teachers as they give formative assessments to track student progress. It's also time for parents to opt their children out of this nonsense!
