Vallejo High holding benefit golf tournament on May 21

Help support the Vallejo High athletic program with a golf scramble at 1 p.m. on May 21 at Blue Rock Springs.

Sign-ups are currently going on and filling up fast. The tournament has limited foursomes remaining.

VALLEJO PAL HOSTING EVENT IN JUNE >> Vallejo PAL will be hosting its 42nd Annual Memorial Golf Classic on Friday June 24 at the Hiddenbroo­ke Golf Course.

There will be a four-person scramble, shotgun start at 12:30 p.m. Check-in begins at 10:30 a.m.

The entry fee is $150, and after June 1, it's $165. The price includes a box lunch, tee prize. golf cart, golf and dinner. There will be silent auction, and raffle gifts.

There are prizes for winning teams, longest drive for men and women. All tournament proceeds benefit the Vallejo PAL programs.

Also the tournament will be honoring fallen Vallejo officers Thacker, Easson, Azuar and Capoot.

The event will be cosponsore­d by the Vallejo Police Associatio­n.

Youth baseball

FAIRFIELD HIGH HOLDING CAMP >> Fairfield High is hosting a four-day summer baseball camp July 1114. Jon Harris will direct the program in conjunctio­n with U.S. Baseball Academy.

The four-day skills camp will feature instructio­n during the morning, with a focus on hitting and defense. The afternoon session will focus on situationa­l baseball games, competitio­n drills, and a Wiffle Ball World Series.
