Rebuilding Together meets goal of distributing disaster safe at home kits
Rebuilding Together Solano County has announced that with the support of its workday sponsors, Wells Fargo and Home Depot, it will meet the goal of distributing 1,000 Disaster Safe At Home Kits and food boxes to military families and other low-income Solano County homeowners.
Rebuilding Together distributed these kits in Vallejo on Veterans Day and is scheduled to distribute them again on Saturday to the 801st Army Engineer Construction Company and then again at the Mare Island Cemetery Wreath Ceremony at 9 a.m. on Dec. 17.
The Disaster Safe At Home Kit includes the following …
• First Aid Kit,
• Hand Crank Radio
• LED Flashlight
• Cell Phone Charger
• Fire extinguisher
• Plug-in night lights
• Emergency blanket
• Glow sticks
• Emergency whistle,
• Hand sanitizer and soap
• Face masks
• A set of trash bags and disaster backpack with emergency information.
Also, RTSC has available for distribution a 10-year smoke alarm and 10-year carbon monoxide alarms. Each kit is valued at $175.00.
