The Cal Maritime men's basketball team won it's third straight game on Thursday night, as the Keelhaulers beat Pacific Union 99-90.

Even though Cal Maritime held a 46-37 lead at halftime, host Pacific Union turned its deficit into a two-point hole with nine minutes remaining.

With this result, Cal Maritime will enter Tuesday's 7:30 p.m. home game against William Jessup with a 3-4 overall and 3-0 Cal Pac record. Pacific Union will end its threegame homestand at 1-10 and 1-3 after suffering its fifth loss in the last six played on its home court vs. Cal Maritime.

Including last year's sweep, the Keelhaulers won the last six straight head-to-head games — a total that includes all four played throughout the Tim Bross era.

As a team, CSUM connected on just over half of its shots from the floor — 32 of 63 — to finish with a .508 overall shooting percentage and dominated the glass by collecting nearly twice as many total rebounds: 41, compared to the Pioneers' 21.

Led by Lee Jones Jr. and his career-high 26 points, five Keelhaulers finished in double figures. Joining the team's point guard to comprise this group were Lunden Taylor (19 points.), Miles Pennington (18 points), Braxton Adderly (13 points) and Divine Nwoko (12 points), who ended his evening with a double-double that also included a game-high 10 boards.

Women's Basketball

CAL MARITIME 87, PACIFIC UNION 86 >> Forty one points from Alice Porter as well as late three-pointer from Kai Kraus helped give the visiting Cal Maritime women's basketball team an 87-86 victory over Pacific Union on Thursday.

Following Kraus' three that snapped an 83-all tie, Anika Carey hit one of two shots at the line, with three seconds on the clock, to extend CSUM's lead to a pair of possessions until the Pioneers' hit a desperation three to make the final score look closer than the events that took place throughout the final 108 seconds of game time.

Off until December 28 when it hosts UC Merced, at PEAC Main Gym, in another Cal Pac contest, Cal Maritime will enter its holiday hiatus with a 1-6 overall and 1-2 league record.

Porter led all players with 41 points, by hitting 15 of 24 shots from the floor and connecting on another eight from the free throw line. By recording a game-high 12 rebounds, she posted a double-double for the fifth time this season.

Dylan Fulton finished with a season-high 21 points and eight rebounds, Marissa Serrano added another 10 points, Carey collected 10 boards — the second double-figure total of her brief college career — and Kraus added another nine points to the Keelhaulers' points total.

Cal Maritime's defense came up with huge stops on consecutive PUC possessions; on the other end of the court, Kraus hit the go-ahead three and Carey was sent to the line and faced an opportunity to ice the game, which is exactly what happened when she connected on the backhalf of a pair of free throws.
