American Canyon wrestling falls against Sonoma Valley

The American Canyon boys wrestling team lost on the road 40-36 against Sonoma Valley on Wednesday.

Despite the loss, James Aken (220 pounds), Jesse Lopez (285), Josiah Salazar (113), Jacob Phillips (120) and Kainoa Ruiz (152) picked up points for the Wolves.

The girls wrestling team won 51-0 against Sonoma Valley. Ianna Lobao (160) won her match by pin.

SOLANO 88, MENDOCINO 85 >>

The Solano College men's basketball team held on to defeat Mendocino 88-85 on Wednesday night.

Jonathon Cobbs came off the bench to score 20 points, while Jacob Ebert added 15 points of his own to go with seven rebounds and four assists.

Dwayne Crosse had 13 points and four assists.

With the win the Falcons improved to 5-17 and 3-6 in the Bay Valley Conference.

Girls Soccer

The Bethel High girls soccer team defeated Kennedy 3-2 on Wednesday night.

With the win the Jaguars improved to 8-5 and 8-2 in the Tri-County Athletic League.

Benicia gets forfeit win

The Benicia High girls soccer team earned a forfeit win over Mt. Diablo on Wednesday.

The Panthers are now 13-6-1 and 7-1 in the Diablo Valley Athletic League with the win.

Boys Soccer

AMERICAN CANYON 1, PETALUMA 1 >>

The American Canyon boys soccer team tied Petaluma on Wednesday, 1-1.

With the tie, the Wolves are 3-13-5 and 0-7-2 in the Vine Valley Athletic League.

Boys Basketball AMERICAN CANYON 71, SONOMA VALLEY 49 >>

The American Canyon boys basketball team defeated Sonoma Valley 71-49.

The Wolves (1-10, 7-3 in the Vine Valley Athletic League) used a 19-6 third-quarter run to help get the victory.
