Michele was born on Mare Island on May 5,1943, to Roberta and Salvatore Alicata. She was the first of five children; three girls and two boys. Being the oldest meant she was the second mom to her younger siblings who remember her fondly trying to teach them dance moves like the twist, the pony, and the locomotion.

Michele graduated from St. Vincent Ferrer High School in 1961 where she, in part, found her love for music and dancing. Not only was she a Pom Pom girl, she found her way onto American Bandstand!

After graduating from Kaiser School of Nursing in 1966, she served in the Army Nurse Corps at The Presidio in SF, attending to the injured soldiers coming home from war during the Viet Nam Conflict. While in the army she met her first husband and later had her beloved son, Timothy Nuzum.

Michele’s career as a nurse spans over 40 years. She has worked as a surgical nurse at Broadway Hospital, taught nursing skills at Solano J C, worked the majority of her career for Kaiser Permanente from advice nurse, to charge nurse in urgent care, and finally as the manager of Adult Medicine at Kaiser Park Shadelands in Walnut Creek. It is there where she met many of her colleagues and long time friends whom she thought the world of. While working for Kaiser, she found time to attend Sonoma State University where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in 1982.

Michele lived a life full of love and adventure. She loved traveling with her husband, Randy. She loved hiking, camping, cooking, gardening, and the outdoors. She loved making jewelry and had her own business, “Jewelry by Michele”. She loved her cats: Prince, Tiki, Moe and Sam. Michele loved spending time with her friends and family. She especially loved being an aunt to her nieces and nephews.

Michele was preceded in death by her son, Tim, and her parents. She is survived by her husband of 35 years, C Randy Kitts; her brothers: Nathan ( Joellen) and Richard Alicata; her sisters: Connie Van Wersch and Kathy (Rick) Brown; and her many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express their deepest gratitude for all the love and support everyone has given during this difficult time.
