Peter Ralph Espinosa June 29, 1937 - January 23, 2024

Born to Alfonso Espinosa and Hazel Mora Garcia on June 29, 1937 in Engleville, Colorado. He was a native of Trinidad, Colorado, and has been a resident of Vallejo since 1971.

After graduating from Holy Trinity Catholic School in June 1955, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and retired in September of 1975. While in the Navy he married Patricia Bartholomew and had four children. In July of 1976 he became a member of the start-up staff for the Anheuser Busch Brewery, Fairfield, California and retired in December 1993.

Peter and Carolyn Nightingale (Bahme) married in 1994 and enjoyed traveling. In all Peter visited all seven continents. He was an active member of St Basil the Great Catholic Church and St. Vincent Catholic Church in Vallejo. He contributed many hours to various ministries and committees over many years. He also served weekly as Eurcurestic Minister at Kaiser Hospital in Vallejo for 15 years and was representative to the Diocese of Sacramento Synod in 2004.

Survivors include his wife Carolyn, his two sons Michael and Darrin Espinosa, two daughters Vida Espinosa-Waters, and Elizabeth Espinosa, and two stepdaughters Diane Afoa and Denise Johnson of Arizona. In addition, he is survived by three brothers Richard, Thomas, and Robert Espinosa of Colorado, two sisters Patsy Cordova of Whittier, California and Maria Basques of Denver, Colorado. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Peter is predeceased by one brother Gilbert Espinosa of Colorado and two sisters, Betty who died shortly after birth and Ruby Quintero, of Aguilar, Colorado.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Basil the Great Catholic Church in Vallejo on February 9th, 2024, beginning at 10am. Private burial will be at the Sacramento National Cemetery in Dixon, California at a later date.
