Vallejo baseball collects a fourth straight victory

St. Pat's softball gets win, Bethel tennis and badminton lose

The Vallejo High baseball team defeated Kennedy 13-1 on Wednesday for its fourth straight victory.

Vallejo scored seven runs in the third inning to take a 7-0 lead and never looked back.

Jeremiah Peace started for Vallejo and threw three innings and gave up zero runs and struck out five hitters while walking two.

Offensivel­y Vallejo was lead by David Bernstine, who had four hits, two singles, a double, a triple and a whooping six stolen bases.

Leadoff hitter Royce Pennington had two hits with three RBI and a double. Third baseman, Denim Dilley

continued his hot streak with a double and a single. JUSTIN-SIENA 8, ST. PAT'S 2 >> The St. Patrick-St. Vincent High baseball team lost 8-2 to Justin-Siena on Wednesday.

Justin-Siena built an 8-0 lead after two innings and the Bruins couldn't get back into the game.

St. Pat's is now 4-2 on the year.

BENICIA 8, VINTAGE 6 >> The Benicia High baseball team defeated Vintage 8-6 on Thursday in a nonleague contest.

Peyton Rowles and Myles Cooper each had two hits, while Cooper also drove in a run. AJ Cabral drove home two runs, while Nash Rubins scored two runs.

Benicia is now 4-3 this season.

Softball

ST. PAT'S 17, JUSTIN-SIENA 7 >> The St. Patrick-St. Vincent High softball team defeated Justin-Siena 17-7 on Thursday as the Bruins were led by an offense that banged out 17 hits.

Kallista Ruble and Aiani Prater each had three hits, while Ruble also drove home a run. Daisha Connors drove home two runs, while Sophia Hughes, Hannah Peterson, Lucia Rubalcava, Francesca Maionchi and Alyssa Bourland all had two hits each.

Hughes had a five-inning complete game and struck out 13 batters in the win. AMERICAN CANYON 3, MARIA CARRILLO 0 >> The American Canyon softball team shut out Maria Carrillo on Wednesday, winning 3-0.

Jaida Fulcher had two hits and an RBI, while Jayden De los Santos also collected two hits.

Mya Santiago threw a complete-game three-hitter and struck out six in the win.

Badminton 14, BETHEL 3

HERCULES >> The Bethel High badminton team lost to Hercules on Thursday 14-3.

Bethel had wins from No. 3 girls singles player Kayla Domingo, while No. 3 boys singles player Andrey Lontonk also won.

In girls doubles play the team of Abby Vargas and Anne Esta won 21-18, 21-8.

Bethel's record dropped to 1-4 on the season with the loss.

The Jaguars' match at home is against El Cerrito on Tuesday.

Boys Tennis

ALBANY 7, BETHEL 0 >> The Bethel High High boys tennis team was shut out 7-0 by Albany on Tuesday.

Although they lost, notable matches came from Bethel No. 2 singles player Bruce Bande and No. 3 singles player Josh De Jesus.

Bethel's matches next week will be Tuesday vs. St. Mary's at home and Thursday at El Cerrito.
