MLK DAY: The Forrest City Education Associatio­n will host its annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday observatio­n virtually through partnershi­p with the St. Francis County Branch NAACP and the Theta Tau Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. REACTIVATI­ON MEETING:

The East Arkansas Ministeria­l Alliance will be having a reactivati­on meeting to nominate and elect officers, Thursday, Jan. 14, at 6 p.m. The meeting will be at the Salem Family Life Center, 109 Haven Street, Forrest City. RECOVERY SUPPORT:

Celebrate Recovery meets at 7 p. m., each Friday at the First

LIBRARY: The Forrest City Public Library is open Monday through Thursday, from 9 a. m. until 4 p.m., and on Friday from 9 a. m. until 3 p. m. Masks are required. No one under 16 will be admitted at this time. Half of the computers will be available for one hour per person per day. Visitors may browse the stacks to look for books or movies, but are required to remain six feet apart. The Library will be closed Monday, January 18 for the Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday.

CEMETERY MEETING: The Stanley Grove Cemetery committee will not hold its annual fall cemetery committee meeting due to Covid- 19 regulation­s. Members are asked to send their donations to Author B.

LITERACY PROJECT: The Eastern Arkansas Literacy Project is offering basic instructio­n to adults 18 years and older for reading, writing, basic math, computers, financial literacy and English as a second language. WOMEN’S CLOTHES: The clothes closet, sponsored by Women in Transition to Glory Services Inc., is open on the fourth Saturday of each month from 2 to 3 p.m., at 407 Cleveland Street in Forrest City.
