FOOD AND SHELTER BOARD: The St. Francis County Emergency Food and Shelter Board is accepting applications through Jan. 22 for Phase 38 funding. A meeting to disburse Phase 37 funds is scheduled for 1 p. m., Thursday, Jan. 28, in the Quorum Court meeting room at the courthouse. MLK DAY: The Forrest City Education Association will host its annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday Observation Virtually through partnership with the St. Francis County Branch NAACP and the Theta Tau Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. RECOVERY SUPPORT: Celebrate Recovery meets at 7 p. m., each Friday at the First Church of the Nazarene at 132

LIBRARY: The Forrest City Public Library is open Monday through Thursday, from 9 a. m. until 4 p.m., and on Friday from 9 a. m. until 3 p. m. Masks are required. No one under 16 will be admitted at this time. Half of the computers will be available for one hour per person per day. Visitors may browse the stacks to look for books or movies, but are required to remain six feet apart. The Library will be closed Monday, January 18 for the Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday.

LITERACY PROJECT: The Eastern Arkansas Literacy Project is offering basic instruction to adults 18 years and older for reading, writing, basic math, computers, financial literacy and English as a second language. FREE MULCH: Free mulch is available on the first Saturday of each month at the Forrest City landfill from 8 a.m. until noon.

WOMEN’S CLOTHES: The clothes closet, sponsored by Women in Transition to Glory Services Inc., is open on the fourth Saturday of each month from 2 to 3 p. m., at 407 Cleveland Street in Forrest City.
