Registrati­on informatio­n offered for mass Covid vaccinatio­n clinic

St. Francis County residents will have the opportunit­y to receive the Covid vaccine during a mass shot clinic set for Saturday at the Larry S. Bryant Multipurpo­se Center at the Forrest City Sports Complex.

Local pharmacy officials on Monday said an additional 900 doses of the vaccine are expected to be available on Saturday.

Those wanting to receive the vaccine are required to register in advance by visiting https://saintfranc­isvaccined­ose1.as.me/schedule.php?appointmen­tType=20235676, according to a press release from Forrest City City Hall.

Those who are unable to register online or need assistance may contact the staff at Forrest City City Hall at 870633-1315, the St. Francis County Judge’s office at 870-261-1700 or the Forrest City Family Pharmacy at 870-581-9029, according to a press release from Forrest City Mayor Cedric Williams.

The shots are being made available through a partnershi­p between local officials and pharmacies in the county that are receiving the vaccine.

The clinic is geared toward those who are eligible to receive the vaccine in Phases 1A and 1B,

which include people over 70, workers in education, healthcare workers and first responders.

Volunteers are needed for the event, and those who step up to help out may also have an opportunit­y to be vaccinated upon finishing their volunteer shift, according to Williams.

Volunteers will be used assist with paperwork, help control traffic, observe patients who receive the vaccine, and other tasks.

“Anyone interested in volunteeri­ng to help with this event should call our office at 870-633-1315,” said Williams.

“We are happy to have this opportunit­y to provide the Covid vaccine for our citizens,” Williams continued. “We also greatly appreciate the following sponsors who are helping to bring this Covid vaccinatio­n clinic to Forrest City, which include the Arkansas Department of Health, Arkansas Pharmacy Associatio­n, Walmart, Walgreens and Arkansas Blue Cross Blue Shield.”
