Deborah Lynn Hicks Roberts (1959-2021)

Deborah Lynn Hicks Roberts of Forrest City was born Jan. 26, 1959, to the late J. W. Hicks Jr. and Bobbie Jean Craig Hicks. She departed this life on Sunday, Feb. 21, 2021, at St. Bernard’s Medical Center in Jonesboro.

Affectiona­tely known as Debbie, she graduated from Brinkley High School. She worked many jobs throughout her life that included being a waitress and a store clerk. Debbie earned a certificat­e at Crowley’s Ridge Technical Institute as a tax preparer while she worked for Tax Associates in Marianna. Debbie lived in Eastern and Central Arkansas throughout the majority of her life.

She confessed and accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. She loved God, her family and friends. Debbie enjoyed fellowship­ping with others. She never met a stranger. Debbie’s hobbies included crafting, telling stories from the past, dancing, singing and entertaini­ng her grandkids with making Tik Toks. She loved life and the time spent with her loved ones.

Debbie was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Timothy Wade Jackson; a grandson, Noah Wade Jackson; a sister, Becky Hicks; two brothers, Douglas Hicks and Ronald “Ronnie” Hicks; one nephew, Little David Hicks Jr.; one great niece, Jessica Inman and a dear friend, Debra Parson.

Debbie leaves to cherish her memories a daughter, Becky L. McKissick and husband, Corey D. McKissick, of Forrest City; a son, Jason P. Jackson and close loved one Amber R. Rhoden; three grandchild­ren, Courtney B. McKissick, Cayden B. McKissick and Corey B. McKissick; two sisters, Donna Hale (Billy) of Branson, Mo., and Janet Smith of Ward; one brother, David Hicks (Anentte) of Tyronza, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, greatniece­s, great-nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation was held this evening, Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2021, from 5 to 7 p.m., in the chapel of Miles Mortuary.

A graveside service for Deborah Lynn Hicks Roberts will be held Thursday, Feb. 25, 2021, at 1 p.m., at the Oak Grove Cemetery in Moro with Bro. Bob Dunaway delivering the eulogy.

Miles Mortuary is in charge of arrangemen­ts.
