Clara Barton Coleman (1938-2021)

Clara Barton Jones Coleman, 82, of Colt, died at home after a long battle with dementia/Alzheimer’s on Saturday, Feb. 13, 2021.

Clara was born at home in Holub’s Crossing on Aug. 1, 1938, to the late Israel Jones and Thelma Holub Jones.

She was a resident of Marianna, Forrest City and Colt.

She worked for Doughboy in Phillips County. She was retired from General Industries and First National Bank of Eastern Arkansas, where she was manager at the Colt branch before moving to the Main Branch. She also served as a Pink Lady for Forrest City Medical Center. She was member of New Prospect Missionary Baptist Church.

Clara married Junior Coleman on June 30, 1967, and he preceded her in death in 2006.

She is survived by her daughter, Pattie Gail Smith (John E.) of the home; two stepsons, Michael Coleman of Palestine and Jerry Coleman of Forrest City; one grandson, Wesley M. Jackson of Forrest City; four great-grandchild­ren, Trey Colvin, Chris Colvin, Kaitlin Jackson and Allison Jackson; one great-greatgrand­daughter, Taylor Elizabeth Colvin; two nephews, Michael Hall (Debra) of Batesville and Ronnie Hall of Holub’s Crossing, and two nieces, Dian Lawson (Odie) of Forrest City and Barbara Lee (Tommy) of Springdale.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Israel and Thelma Jones; her husband, Junior Coleman; a stillborn son, Joseph Lee Coleman; a granddaugh­ter, Angie Michelle Colvin; two sisters, Margaret Ann Jones and Neva Louise Hall and a niece, Beverly Hall.

Ms. Coleman will be buried Friday, Feb. 26, 2021, at 2 p.m., at Salem Cemetery next to the Salem Methodist Church in Lee County.

Morgan Funeral home is in charge of arrangemen­ts.
