FCSD extends Hardrick’s contract

The Forrest City School Board on Tuesday extended Superintendent Dr. Tiffany Hardrick’s contract with the district.

Hardrick, who began working in the Forrest City School District in 2014, will be paid a base salary of $151,253 for the 2021-22 school year.

Each spring, the board evaluates the superintendent’s performance.

Board members met in an executive session with Hardrick for about 30 minutes prior to voting on the extension.

“She has done a fantastic job with the school district,” said board president Sandra Taylor. “I think she’s been here approximately six years, and if you look around, our district looks totally different. She has painted, replaced, put together, and it takes a lot of effort, thinking and leadership to do that. We feel that with all of this money coming in, too, it takes you to a higher level of responsibility as well. We really couldn’t put a price on what she’s done.”

Taylor said Hardrick’s new contract does not include a pay raise.

“I was begging for buses at one time and man these buses are rolling left and right,” Taylor continued, referring to the board’s decision last night to buy seven new buses. “It’s like she puts her mind to getting something done and gets with her staff and they get it done. We just cannot pay her what she’s worth, so we added another year to her contract.”

Hardrick said she is pleased to have the support of the board.

“I really appreciate the school board for their faith in me and their support of the work we’ve done over the last six years,” she said.

Hardrick is a graduate of Forrest City High School.

“It’s home, so it’s personal. Even when it’s up and down, it’s personal,” said Hardrick. “It means a lot to be home to be able to allow my kids to come home and graduate from Forrest City.

“This job has impacted my quality of life and everything just to come back here,” she said. “I appreciate the tough love and the support of this board, and I’m looking forward to continuing to move the district forward with our facilities, our environment, academics and to reward our teachers. We have an amazing opportunity with all of these things that are coming, so I’m looking forward to being able to come up with new, innovative and creative ways to reward kids and adults.”
