Mustangs swept; Patriots cancelled

Forrest City's season long struggles to score runs continued Tuesday in a doublehead­er home loss to Pulaski Academy.

The Mustangs, winners of just one game this season, were shut out twice by the Bruins, 15-0 and 22-0, in the 4A-5 conference doublehead­er.

The Mustangs will play a JV doublehead­er Thursday at Wynne and complete the varsity conference schedule on Tuesday, April 27 when they host Pulaski Robinson.

There was no final score or game results reported for Forrest City's doublehead­er softball game against the Pulaski Academy Lady Bruins.

The Lady Mustangs are scheduled to host Barton Friday in a JV nonconfere­nce doublehead­er before playing at West Memphis on Monday, April 26 and hosting Pulaski Robinson on Tuesday, April 27, for the final regular season conference doublehead­er.

The Palestine-Wheatley Patriots found themselves with an unschedule­d off day Tuesday after McCrory cancelled the single varsity nonconfere­nce game due to the school's athletic banquet.

The Patriots next game, according to the season schedule, will be Monday, April 26, when they host Helena-West Helena in a home varsity-junior varsity baseball game. The Patriots will end the season on April 30 with an away game at Central Arkansas Christian.

The Patriots are currently resting in the top spot in their side of the 3A-6 conference standings.

Palestine-Wheatley's Lady Patriots, after playing at Des Arc on Tuesday, will host Helena-West Helena on Monday and Pine Bluff Dollarway on Tuesday, April 27.

The Lady Patriots are currently sitting in third place in the 3A-6 conference standings and will play at Central Arkansas Christian on April 30, in a game scheduled for Burns Park in North Little Rock.

The The top four teams from the 3A-6 conference will move on to the regional tournament set for May 6-8, at CAC and the top four teams from the regional will advance to the Class 3A state tournament scheduled for May 13-15 at Ashdown.
