Sheila Funicello Johnson (1964-2021)

Sheila Funicello Johnson was born May 10, 1964, in Forrest City, to Antionette Breathitt and Willie Lee Whitley, who preceded her in death.

Sheila graduated from Forrest City High School in May 1982. Thereafter, she attended Arkansas State University in Jonesboro. Later she moved to Little Rock where she met her husband, Larry Charles “Magic” Johnson Jr., who preceded her in death.

Sheila attended Rising Sun M.B. Church at an early age under Rev. Armstead Slayton. After moving back from Little Rock, she reunited with the New Rising Sun M.B. Church under Pastor James Brooks until her health failed.

She leaves to cherish her memory two sisters, Anita Jackson of Forrest City and Felicia Coleman of Pine Bluff; one brother, Michael Whitley of Pine Bluff; three aunts, Mary Ann Tuberville and Betty Jones, both of Forrest City, and Deborah Breathitt of Los Angeles; three uncles, Jordan Breathitt of Chicago, Will Arthur of Maumelle and Benny J. Breathitt of Huntsville, Texas; two nephews, Kevin T. Jackson

Jr. of Forrest City and Keenon Coleman of Pine Bluff; three nieces, Christine Whitley, Alicia Whitley and Adrienne Whitley, all of West Memphis; a special friend, Doreen Johnson; three godsons, Michael Powell Jr., Quintarius Powell and Stanley K. Johnson, and a host of cousins and friends.

The funeral service for Sheila Whitley Johnson, 57, of Forrest City will be Saturday, June 19, 2021, at noon at the Forrest City Civic Center with Pastor James Brooks delivering the eulogy. Burial will follow at Casteel Cemetery.

Miles Mortuary is in charge of arrangemen­ts.
