Willie Jean Gore Parker, age 91, of Little Rock, died Friday, June 18, 2021, at her home in Little Rock.

Mrs. Parker was born Sept. 24, 1929, in Palestine, and was the daughter of Elmer Gore and Maxie Halbert Gore.

Jean graduated from Forrest City High School in 1948, was a life-long homemaker and a member of the Palestine Church of Christ. After moving to Little Rock in 2000 to live with her sister, Van Compton, Central Church of Christ became her home church where she faithfully attended until her health declined. Jean enjoyed shopping and watching old movies and her hobby was growing flowers.

Jean married George 'Chicken' Parker on May 28, 1948, and he preceded her in death in 2000. She was also preceded in death by one son, Richard Parker; one brother, Harry Eden, and two sisters, Elizabeth Thornton and Joyce Pippin.

She is survived by one son, Chris Parker of Palestine; one daughter, Lynn Smith of Columbia, Tenn.; one granddaugh­ter, Allison Lesch; two brothers, Elmer 'Buddy' Gore of Forrest City and Clinton Gore of Osceola, and two sisters, Helen Devazier of Batesville and Van Compton of Little Rock, along with several nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held today, Monday, June 21, 2021, from 1 to 2 p.m., at the Palestine Church of Christ, followed by the funeral service at 2 p.m., at the church, with burial following in Bell Cemetery.

Stevens Funeral Home was in charge of arrangemen­ts.
