Two men were shot in separate incidents over the weekend in Forrest City, with one victim telling police he didn’t even realize he had been shot until waking up later that day.

On Sunday afternoon, officers with the Forrest City Police Department were called to Forrest City Medical Center where Adrian Dion Greer, 38, 853 Woodale, Forrest City, was seeking medical attention for a gunshot wound to his left calf.

Greer told police he had been at the 50-50 Club in Forrest City between 2 and 3 a.m., when he witnessed a subject with a weapon get into altercations with a group of women and some men at the club, including himself. Greer told police the man struck him in the face, and as he was attempting to flee the altercation, the subject fired two gunshots in his direction.

Greer said after the altercation, he left the club and went to his residence where he fell asleep, adding that when he awoke, he realized he had been shot and sought medical attention.

FCPD Chief Deon Lee said officers have a suspect in this case, but have not yet made an arrest.

Officers have made an arrest in the second shooting from the weekend.

Larry Farris, 45, 624 E. South St., Forrest City, is charged with first-degree battery and discharging a firearm in the city limits in connection with a shooting that occurred about 4 a.m., on Saturday.

According to the FCPD, the shooting took place at the South Street residence Farris reportedly shares with his girlfriend, who police said is a cousin to the shooting victim, Elliot Moss, 22, of Little Rock.

Officers were called to the South Street area in reference to gunshots being fired, and while en route, learned that a gunshot victim was seeking medical attention at the local hospital.

Officers spoke with Farris and his girlfriend, who told them she heard one gunshot that sounded like it came from the living room and that her cousin left for the emergency room but she “didn’t know if he had been shot or not.”

The woman allowed police to search the residence where they found a Taurus 9mm handgun along with two 9mm shell casings on the living room floor, according to the report.
