PIONEER DAY: The Colt Community Developmen­t Corporatio­n will hold its annual Pioneer Day on Saturday, Sept. 11, from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m., at the William Stone House in Colt. The event will feature music, food and booths.

EXERCISE CLASS: The Forrest City Medical Center Auxiliary has begun holding its PACE Exercise Classes again at Café 1601 (the cafeteria) at Forrest City Medical Center. Classes are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 9 to 10 a.m. The free classes include range of motion, gentle strengthen­ing, balance, weight-bearing and breathing exercises, all performed in standing or seated positions to suit individual needs. Masks will be required for all participan­ts.

NARCOTICS ANONYMOUS: Narcotics Anonymous meetings are held each Wednesday, at 7 p.m., at the Good Shepherd Episcopal Church, located at 400 Hill Street in Forrest City.

RECOVERY SUPPORT: Celebrate Recovery meets at 7 p.m., each Friday at the First Church of the Nazarene at 132 McCutchen St., in Forrest City. Anyone having problems with addictions, habits or hangups is welcome to join. For more informatio­n, contact pastor Lynn Hickman at 501-831-6353.

LITERACY PROJECT: The Eastern Arkansas Literacy Project is offering basic instructio­n to adults 18 years and older for reading, writing, basic math, computers, financial literacy and English as a second language. FREE WOMEN’S CLOTHING: Spring Creek Community Baptist Church is giving away free women’s clothing. For more informatio­n, call at 870-4946962. QUILTERS: The Caring Touch Quilters meet each second and fourth Tuesday in September through May at the First Baptist Church gym at 10 a.m. The group also teaches quilting. FREE MULCH: Free mulch is available on the first Saturday of each month at the Forrest City landfill from 8 a.m. until noon.

TABITHA’S CLOSET: Tabitha’s Clothes Closet at Oak Hill Church of God in Forrest City will be open the first Saturday of every month from 10 a.m. to noon. For more informatio­n, call 870-633-7331.

WOMEN’S CLOTHES: The clothes closet, sponsored by Women in Transition to Glory Services Inc., is open on the fourth Saturday of each month from 2 to 3 p.m., at 407 Cleveland Street in Forrest City. FORREST HILLS WATCH: The Forrest Hills neighborho­od wants to organize a Neighborho­od Watch program in partnershi­p with the Forrest City Police Department. Those who are interested are asked to call Pastor Moses Green at 870-5141304 or 630-9055.

LEASHES NEEDED: Forrest City Area Humane Society is in need of clamp leashes and collars, to make a donation, drop off at the Times-Herald.

CEMETERY MAINTENANC­E: Volunteers and donors are being sought for the maintenanc­e and renovation of the Forrest City Cemetery on Fletcher Road. Any check or money order donations can be made out to the Forrest City Cemetery and sent to P.O. Box 2234, Forrest City, AR 72336.

CEMETERY RESTORATIO­N: An effort is being made to restore the Weaver Cemetery, off Highway 255 in Palestine. A nonprofit fund, the Weaver Family Cemetery Restoratio­n and Preservati­on Fund, has been establishe­d.
