Bobby Bryant
Like Agnew, Bobby Bryant was also a 1969 graduate of Lincoln High School.
"Mack is and always will be a very close friend," Bryant said of Agnew. "He was very good in football and he was very talented on the track. We were very close in both sports."
Most of the time, Agnew and Bryant were joined by teammate Freddie Brown, who was inducted into the Forrest City Hall of Fame in 2011. Brown has since passed away.
"We were all very close and we were all very competitive and just as fast as Mack," Bryant said.
The trio also played baseball while at Lincoln.
As a Lincoln athlete, Bryant was a three-year lettermen in football and track for the Tigers as well as being a two-time 2AA All-Conference defensive end for Coach Eugene Rook's 1966 and 1968 undefeated football teams.
It has been said of Bryant thet he had a special ability, or radar like senses, that allowed him to track down and sack opponent quarterbacks for losses and several occasions registering quarterback a safety.
"That was just one of the areas what Mack, Freddie and I were very good at," Bryant said. "We were quarterback head hunters. We could get next to a quarterback and make something happen. The three of us just loved the game and we did what needed to be done to be successful."
Bryant will be inducted into the Forrest City Athletic Hall of Fame on Friday, Sept. 24, representing the Lincoln High School era as part of last year's 2020 Class.
He will be joined by his Tiger football teammate Mack Agnew.
