Alice Marie Adams (1933-2021)

Alice Marie Adams, age 88, of Forrest City, died Saturday, Sept. 18, 2021, at the Baptist Hospital in Oxford, Miss.

Mrs. Adams was born Aug. 21, 1933, in Palestine, and was the daughter of Jerry Jayroe and Winnie Swinney Jayroe. She lived in St. Francis County most all of her life, was a past employee of Sanyo Manufactur­ing and had retired from the St. Francis County Area Developmen­tal Center. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and was dedicated to serving in the church nursery for many years.

Mrs. Adams married Max Henry Adams in 1955, and he preceded her in death in 1987.

She is survived by two sons, Frank Adams and wife, Ginadell, of Forrest City, and Keith Adams and wife, Joan, of Cordova, Tenn.; one brother, Johnny Jayroe of Palestine; two sisters, Louise Tracy of Charleston and Dorothy Jean Billingsle­y of Carthage, Miss.; four grandchild­ren, Morgan Haltom and husband, Taylor, Kaylee Barrett and husband, Powell, Ethan Adams and Eli Adams, and two greatgrand­children, Hank and Mae.

She was preceded in death by four brothers, James R. 'Gug' Jayroe, Cecil Jayroe,

Buddy Jayroe and Billy Jayroe, and two sisters, Margaret Singer and Betty Jo Dover.

Visitation for Mrs. Adams will begin at 1 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 22, 2021, at First Baptist Church and continue until the time of the service at 2 p.m., at the church. Burial will follow in Forrest Park Cemetery, with Stevens Funeral Home in charge of arrangemen­ts.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to First Baptist Church, 507 N. Rosser, Forrest City, AR 72335.
